Description
Filodivino's “Meno” is a fresh, easy-drinking summer red, born from the simple idea of removing everything that is not essential to make room for the most authentic expression of the grape and the territory. It is a project that starts from healthy raw material and great care at every stage, with the aim of stripping the winemaking process of superfluous practices and interventions to achieve a pure, direct and vibrant result. The wine is a blend of Grenache with a small percentage of Lacrima, adding an aromatic touch that recalls its land of origin. The Grenache vineyards are located in San Marcello, at 220-240 metres above sea level, partly east-facing with a small portion facing south, on soils rich in calcareous clay and sand. The estate always focuses on quality and respect for the environment, which is why the vineyards are farmed according to organic viticulture principles. The harvest is always by hand, in small crates, to preserve the integrity of the bunches and to select the best ones on the vine. Once the grapes have been destemmed, the must ferments spontaneously in stainless steel tanks, macerating on the skins, with manual punching down during the first few days. The must is separated from the skins very early, before the end of fermentation. After a short three-month ageing in steel tanks, the wine matures further in the bottle for at least another three months before release. In the glass “Meno” shows a light red colour, immediate and honest. On the palate it is a wine full of energy, dynamic and smooth, combining drinkability and personality. The fruity character of Grenache intertwines with the more aromatic notes of Lacrima, creating a lively and engaging sip. A summer red to enjoy on informal, carefree occasions, as an aperitif or also with fish dishes.
