Vinicola Cicella was founded in 2013, but its history goes back much further. All the wines come from the vineyards of the brothers Michele and Cosimo Schifone, inherited from generations. The proximity to the sea and the clayey red soil allow for the production of high quality grapes and therefore excellent wines. Here, the Primitivo di Manduria DOC is king, and daily life is intertwined with work in the vineyards, which are cultivated using the non-irrigated alberello system to produce excellent wines that highlight the typicality and uniqueness of the area, maintaining strong ties with history, as tradition dictates. The winery is located on land purchased by the Schifone brothers from the noble Bardoscia family in 2007, where a modern two-storey winery is located, surrounded by Primitivo vineyards. In addition to steel vats, there are a few tonneaux and the famous "capasoni", ancient terracotta pots over 100 years old, handed down from generation to generation, in which the Primitivo wine is still refined, just as our grandparents did.
