Description
Filodivino's white “Serra 46” comes from the heart of the Marche hills, near San Marcello, and is made from pure Verdicchio, the most famous and widespread grape in the area. It takes its name from the winery's own address, underlining a direct and authentic bond with its place of origin, and indeed represents the freshest and most immediate expression of the territory and the grape. A white appreciated for its easy drinkability, versatility and pleasant fruit that invites tasting. We are in the hinterland of the Marche region: the grapes are selected from the estate's youngest vineyards, at around 220-230 metres above sea level, in a landscape of gentle hills with soils rich in calcareous clay and sand that give a marked mineral imprint. The vineyards are managed according to certified organic viticulture principles, and the harvest is carried out by hand in small crates to preserve the integrity of the bunches. In the cellar, the bunches are kept overnight in a cold room at 5°C before destemming and pressing, which therefore take place the day after picking. Fermentation is carried out by adding indigenous yeasts, selected in the vineyard through a project the estate has been running for some years. The wine ferments in stainless steel tanks, then ages briefly (around 3 months) in the same tanks on its fine lees; it is bottled in the spring following the harvest. It rests for at least another three months in the bottle before release. In the glass it shows an intense, bright yellow colour, accompanied by aromas reminiscent of white fruits and delicate exotic nuances. On the palate it is full and soft, supported by a well-defined mineral structure and pleasant freshness that balances its richness. Versatile and harmonious, it is perfect as an aperitif or with delicate fish dishes and fresh cheeses.
