Description
Ancarani's white “Indigeno” is a lively, straightforward, energetic and refreshing frizzante that fully reflects the estate's philosophy and its deep bond with the land of Romagna. For Rita and Claudio, wine is part of everyday life and of the farming culture they come from: an authentic, distinctive and convivial product, able to tell the story of the territory without artifice. In this light, respect for native varieties is a fundamental value, safeguarded through the family's old vineyards and carried forward in the new plantings. “Indigeno” is made exclusively from Trebbiano Romagnolo grapes from the hillside vineyards of Oriolo dei Fichi, where the estate is located. This plot is characterised by red clay and silt. In keeping with their philosophy, the harvest is carried out by hand only, and in this case slightly ahead of full ripeness, to best preserve acidity, freshness and aromatic tension. The bunches are destemmed and, after a particularly soft pressing, the must ferments spontaneously with indigenous yeasts. The wine then matures on its fine lees and is aged in concrete tanks until refermentation in the bottle, achieved by adding must kept from the same harvest. Once refermentation is complete, the wine is not disgorged and retains its yeasts, which are responsible for the typical cloudiness that marks its appearance and evolution. In the glass it shows a pale straw yellow colour. The nose is delicate and immediate, with citrus notes, hints of acacia blossom and light nuances of bread crust. On the palate it is dry, with pronounced savouriness and lively acidity, gradually softened by the yeasts in suspension. The sip is nimble, fresh and thirst-quenching, combining simplicity and character in a dynamic drinking experience.
