Description

The Pisoni family’s Petiz Rosato embodies the long tradition of rosé winemaking in the Trentino-Alto Adige region, known as ‘Kretzer’. Originally produced from the historic and much-loved Schiava grape variety, Petiz is now made from a blend of Piwi grapes. These are grown using the Pergola Trentina training system and are sourced from the Cesure vineyard, which is characterised by silty-sandy soils. After careful destemming, the must is left to macerate on the skins for 24 hours inside the press. It is then gently pressed and left to ferment with the aid of selected yeasts. This results in a bright pink wine that is fresh and light yet possesses a pleasant structure. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is aged for around six months in stainless steel tanks.
The Petiz Rosato Vigneti delle Dolomiti is a delightful, elegant wine with a delicious hint of strawberry. On the palate, it is nicely acidic, dry and intense with pleasant notes of raspberry. This rosé, a symbol of summer, is perfect not only as a classic aperitif, but also when paired with elaborate fish-based dishes such as soups, cacciucco and brodetto. Furthermore, it is a refined alternative to beer when enjoyed with pizza, a staple of Italian cuisine.
