Description

The three-bottle case of 'Okron' from Terrae Laboriae contains one of the most fascinating whites from the Campania winery run by Antonio Sauchella and Angelo Iannotti. The name, inspired by Georgia, means 'gold' and refers to its intense golden yellow colour, the result of long maceration and ageing in amphorae. Produced from 100% Malvasia grapes, 'Okron' expresses an authentic and artisanal soul: the vines grow in the Sannio area, at an altitude of about 400 metres, on clayey and calcareous soils, worked with full respect for nature. Fermentation is spontaneous, with 15 days of maceration on the skins and 12 months of ageing in Qvevri, traditional Georgian amphorae that give the wine balance, depth and vitality. In the glass, it is orange in colour, intense and slightly cloudy, with aromas of pineapple, apricot and honey, spicy hints of ginger and delicate floral notes. The palate is dry, fresh and vibrant, long and persistent, combining elegance and character.
