Three bottle pack “Sicilian vines"

Description

The 'Vitigni di Sicilia' three-bottle case includes white and red wines from the Giasira winery, expressing the native Sicilian grape varieties.

Keration, a pure 'lucido' Catarratto, comes from limestone vineyards in Rosolini (180-250 metres above sea level), trained using the spurred cordon method with yields of 70 quintals per hectare. Harvested by hand and fermented in temperature-controlled steel tanks, it is aged on its lees for 6 months and a further 3 months in the bottle. Straw yellow with greenish reflections, complex bouquet of orange blossom and yellow-fleshed fruit; elegant, enveloping and savoury on the palate. Perfect with vegetarian dishes, seafood and medium-aged cheeses.

Single-varietal white Grillo, from Guyot vineyards in Contrada Ritillini, harvested by hand at the end of August, fermented in stainless steel and aged sur lies for 6 months. Straw yellow with golden reflections, citrus and vegetal aromas; full, fresh and mineral on the palate. Suitable for seafood or vegetable first courses, delicate fish main courses and soft cheeses.

Morhum, Nerello Mascalese, from vineyards in Rosolini (180-250 metres above sea level), fermentation with maceration on the skins in stainless steel, 9 months in stainless steel and 9 in oak barrels, with a further 3 months' rest in the bottle. Light ruby red, aromas of wild berries, rose and pepper; structured on the palate, soft tannins and a persistent finish. Ideal with pizza, cold cuts and semi-mature cheeses.
