Description
The Syrah red wine from Cantina Blasi is made from grapes of the same name, offering a satisfying sensory experience that is both elegant and refined. A faithful representation of its constituent grapes, it is smooth and rounded on the palate, with aromas of ripe red fruit and spices.
The grapes are cultivated according to organic farming principles on the Villa Pace estate, which is characterised by clayey soils and a south/south-west exposure at an altitude of 300–320 metres above sea level. Each bunch grows under the warm embrace of the Umbrian sun and is cradled by hill breezes, which give the wine its character, complexity, and healthiness. After the harvest, the bunches are destemmed in the cellar and fermented in contact with the must for at least 15 days in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 24–28 °C. Malolactic fermentation reduces the malic acid content. The wine is then aged in large French oak barrels for 18 months, followed by a further 4–5 months in the bottle before release. Ruby red in colour, it is complex on the palate, with a smooth and rounded initial taste and a delicate finish. The aroma develops enveloping notes of blueberries, ripe blackberries and oriental spices. It is particularly suitable for long aperitifs with friends or with well-structured dishes.
