Description

The name Pradi comes from the Pisoni family estate where the grapes come from. Teroldego, one of the few varieties that can be considered indigenous to the region, a close relative of Lagrein and an illustrious descendant of Pinot, expresses all its personality with aromas reminiscent of wild berries and a fresh, full-bodied sip. The soils of the estate are sandy and the vines are trained in the Trentino pergola, a training system that makes the most of the sunlight, with the grapes growing under the canopy of leaves, protected from direct sunlight, allowing greater aeration and easier harvesting. Harvesting is done by hand, The yield at harvest is around 100 quintals per hectare. After the addition of selected yeasts, the must is macerated on the skins for 30 days in stainless steel vats. The wine is then aged for 12 months in barrels of fourth or fifth passage. With this type of ageing, the addition of wood is almost non-existent, which helps to preserve the varietal character of Teroldego. In the glass, it has a bright ruby red colour and opens to the nose with floral nuances, enriched by delicate notes of violet. Soft and round on the palate, with just the right amount of tannin. A typical wine of Trentino, it goes well with local cuisine, with first courses such as canederli col ragù, traditional gulasch or tonco de pontesèl. It can also be found in the classic Teroldego risotto.
