Description

In the heart of Trentino Alto Adige, the nobility of Pinot Noir is revealed in an expression that has been refined for almost two centuries. This variety, cultivated with dedication and skill, reaches its zenith in the most vocal hills of the region, where Marco and Stefano Pisoni, pioneers in the field, have devoted decades of commitment, passion and resources to the cultivation of Pinot Noir. History and commitment. From the careful selection of clones to the choice of the best barriques for ageing, their commitment was rewarded with victory in the 2009 National Pinot Noir Competition. This success was the culmination of a long period of work and laid the foundations for an unmistakable and convincing interpretation of this variety, which enhances the terroir of the picturesque Valle dei Laghi. Situated in the San Siro estate on calcareous soil, the vines are trained using the Guyot system and the yield at harvest time never exceeds 60 quintals per hectare, creating the optimum conditions for the grapes to ripen as evenly as possible. As with all the varieties, selected yeasts are used for fermentation. Maturation is similar to that of Rebo, with the wine spending 24 months in oak barrels to complete the process. In the glass, the Pinot Noir presents itself with an intense garnet red colour, anticipating an enveloping sensory experience. The velvety bouquet of ripe cherries and wild berries, typical of Pinot Noir, is the prelude to a dry, intense and pleasantly bitter taste, with a hint of vanilla due to the barrel ageing. This exceptional wine pairs perfectly with the aromas of the forest, from porcini mushrooms to truffles. Its versatility is evident both in a great first course and in combination with white meat, poultry or game.
