Description

The name 'Moro Polo' is a tribute to the forester Antonio Lionello, a legendary figure who guarded the slopes of Monte Venda during the last century. Moro Polo was chosen as a trusted forester by Count Giusti del Giardino, who owned large tracts of land on the Venda, some of which we now manage. His proud and open spirit is reflected in the character of this blend of Cabernet and Merlot, which honours his memory and his deep connection with the land of the Euganean Hills. The spurred cordon training system is used for Merlot and Guyot, Cabernet forms are very popular in the company, with a careful yield between 40 and 50 quintals per hectare. Harvesting is done by hand and is followed by gentle crushing, destemming and maceration on the skins for about 10 days. Like all the Zanovello family's wines, it is naturally stabilised during the two-year ageing period in tonneaux and large barrels. In the glass, it has an intense ruby red colour and reveals delicate notes of small red fruits, enveloped by sensations of spices and balsamic herbs. It is surprisingly easy to drink and fresh, with a lingering finish that invites new tastes. It is the perfect accompaniment to strong flavours such as red meats, wild boar stew or pappardelle with ragù, as well as mature Alpine cheeses.
