Description

Like Teolis, Murva's ‘Corvatis’ wine is a natural wine, produced using environmentally and biodiversity-friendly winemaking practices. It perfectly reflects the characteristics of this grape variety in the Friuli region: it is rich on the nose, with hints of citrus and fruit. It is warm and savoury on the palate with a pleasantly balsamic finish.
The vineyard is located in the municipality of Mariano and is characterised by red, ferrous soil consisting mainly of dolomitic limestone with a medium texture. It is one of the driest plots, with the least rainfall. The vines are cultivated using the unilateral Guyot system to obtain a yield of 70 quintals per hectare.
Vinification begins with cold skin extraction; the must is kept in contact with the skins at a low temperature. The duration of extraction varies depending on the vintage but is generally no more than one night. Fermentation then begins at a low temperature of around 15°C. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is aged on its fine lees for 10–11 months in steel tanks to preserve its freshness and complexity. In the glass, the wine is crystal clear with a straw-yellow colour and offers a refined and compelling taste experience. The aroma opens with refined floral and citrus nuances intertwined with green notes of tomato leaf, hints of orange blossom and a spicy touch reminiscent of Dijon mustard. The palate is full-bodied and enveloping with beautiful density that fills the mouth without being heavy. The finish is long and clean, consistent with the aroma, leaving a sensation of freshness and cleanliness.
This is a Sauvignon Blanc with natural elegance.
