Description

Alberto Pelos and Renata Pizzulin founded the Murva winery in January 2009. On the one hand, they are creating their family, with first-born Marco and second-born Tommaso, and on the other, they are shaping the vineyards. The land their grandparents farmed for generations has always been dedicated to the cultivation of vines. The climate and geology of the area are particularly favourable to the cultivation of vines. The obvious vocation of the area for viticulture is demonstrated by the strong growth of the area, thanks to the work of brilliant and experienced entrepreneurial minds. It was decided to start with one hectare, then the following year with a second hectare, after three years with half a hectare and in the fifth year with just over one and a half hectares. Today, the area under vine is just over four hectares. The redistribution of the available land has favoured the use of very different substrates, while remaining within a rather limited area, no more than three kilometres in diameter, which includes dolomitic limestone soils and marl erosion clays. This is the type of soil on which the winery's vines are grown. The variety of soils, from calcareous-dolomitic to clay-marly, has allowed us to invest in several production sites and different varieties. Teolis, Corvatis, Monuments, Paladis, Melaris and Murellis are the vineyards. Four in the municipality of Moraro and two in the neighbouring municipality. The first two are planted with sauvignon blanc, the third and fourth with chardonnay, the fifth with malvasia istriana and the sixth with refosco dal peduncolo rosso.
