Description

The Trezero winery's 'Tholus' wine, where three stands for the original creators of the project and zero for the environmental impact it aims to achieve, is made exclusively from grapes of the Soreli variety, a piwi grape resistant to fungal diseases. Trezero's commitment to the cultivation of these environmentally friendly and innovative varieties, which guarantee a reduction in chemical treatments, the use of agricultural machinery and CO2 emissions, is its foundation.
The quality is unquestionable, this still white wine is suitable for everyone, the tight palate makes the taste fresh, light and immediate, while the floral aromas are convincing, a pleasant and convincing dance.
The rows of vines face north-south and are planted on plots of land with clayey-clay soils in the Friuli Grave area, within the DOC appellation of the same name. The grapes are harvested by hand, which guarantees a meticulous selection.
For the white vinification, the grapes are lightly pressed, followed by a short maceration of the must, which is left to cool for a few days, during which the battonage is carried out. The battonage technique is also used in the post-fermentation phase to re-suspend the noble lees during ageing.
In the glass, 'Tholus' has a brilliant straw-yellow colour with greenish reflections. The nose is dominated by elegant floral notes, such as wisteria, accompanied by hints of white fleshed fruit.
On the palate, the wine's pronounced minerality and vibrant freshness are supported by a well-developed acidity that lingers on the finish. A perfect accompaniment to a wide range of dishes, Tholus is at its best with lightly sliced meats and especially with a good prosciutto crudo, which enhances its delicacy and liveliness.
