Description

Murva's Chardonnay comes from the international vine of the same name, planted near the winery's centre in the municipality of Moraro. Like the great wines that Renata and Alberto propose, it is elegant and full-bodied, with a savoury, enveloping finish. Bringing the glass closer to the nose, one can perceive the notes of passion fruit that precede the evolving notes of ripe fruit, ending with a light minerality. All in all, a wine of fine and harmonious complexity. The soil in which this vineyard is rooted has a grain size very similar to that of the Cru Teolis, characterised by the absence of a skeleton and the shallowness of the silty-clay layer. Its exceptional capacity to retain water during dry periods makes it a privileged location for cultivation. It is cultivated using the Guyot system, with the aim of maintaining a yield of 70 quintals per hectare with pruning. The grapes are harvested by hand, the stalks are removed by destemming, and the must is kept together with the skins at low temperatures for about one night in a process called cold maceration. Once the yeasts have been added, fermentation begins, also at a low temperature. The wine is aged in steel tanks with its lees until the end of July. This is a wine that can be served on informal occasions, even on festive family dinners.
