Description

The Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva from Paride d'Angelo is the jewel in the crown of this splendid young winery. From the first glimpse in the glass, this wine surprises with its aromatic complexity, anticipating a sensory experience that proves convincing and satisfying to the palate. On tasting, the Riserva does not disappoint, offering an impressive body and structure, with a powerful sip, well supported by tannins full of energy. The red Riserva Paride d'Angelo is 100% Montepulciano, a vine that needs no introduction, cultivated in the inland area of Pescara, between the Adriatic Sea and the Gran Sasso, using the traditional Abruzzo Pergola training system. The vineyards have an average age of 65 years and are cultivated without the use of any synthetic chemicals, which testifies to the company's constant commitment to organic viticulture. The grapes are always harvested by hand and once in the cellar, the must is left to macerate on the skins for a month while fermenting, all without the addition of sulphites. The wine matures for 12 months in stainless steel vats, followed by a further 12 months in new, medium-toasted French barriques. The impenetrable and intense ruby red colour, with hints of garnet, catches the eye and announces an enveloping tasting experience. Ethereal tones blend harmoniously with sensations of blackberries and red fruits, which gradually give way to refined aromas of dried roses and balsamic notes. Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva is a wine to be opened on important occasions, to be enjoyed immediately, but it can also be aged beautifully, improving with a few more years in the cellar. It is an ideal accompaniment to important, well-structured dishes, such as first courses with meat, grilled beef, and also perfect with filled pasta.
