Wine Piedmont - Italian Wines Direct to UK

Piedmont, in the north-west of Italy, is a world-famous wine-producing region, renowned for its oenological tradition and the quality of its wines. Characterised by hills and mountains, the region has a wide variety of terroirs that contribute to the production of unique and distinctive wines. Famous for its red wines, Piedmont is particularly known for its Nebbiolo-based wines. The Langhe, one of the most prestigious areas, is home to the Barolo and Barbaresco appellations, whose wines stand out for their complexity, structure and ability to age.

Monferrato is another important wine-growing area, famous for producing wines such as Barbera d'Asti, Barbera del Monferrato and Grignolino, which are renowned for their freshness and versatility. In Roero, Nebbiolo produces elegant and aromatic wines, while Arneis is appreciated for its fresh and fragrant white wines.

Alto Piemonte includes appellations such as Gattinara, Ghemme and Boca, which offer red wines of great character, also based on Nebbiolo. Piedmont is also famous for its sweet wines, such as Moscato d'Asti, a light and aromatic sparkling wine, ideal as an aperitif or with desserts.
