Description
The 'Cabernet' three-bottle case from the Podere Conca winery contains three wines, Apistós, Agapanto and 196, each with its own personality but united by a common characteristic.
Apistós, made exclusively from Cabernet Franc grapes, is the winery's flagship label. The name, in ancient Greek, means 'incredible' and symbolises the charm of what goes beyond reality. The grapes, grown on red sand and clay soils next to the estate, produce a complex and profound wine. In the glass, it expresses notes of aromatic herbs and green pepper, with a rich and structured palate that is long and persistent.
Agapanto, Bolgheri Rosso DOC, is a poetic tribute to the South African flower Agapanthus, a symbol of love and beauty. It is made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Ciliegiolo grapes grown on sandy, well-drained soils. A harmonious, lively and elegant red wine with a bouquet of red fruits and a fresh and persistent palate.
196, a pure Cabernet Sauvignon, exudes freshness and character, with aromas of red fruit and vegetal notes typical of the grape variety. Vinified in concrete and aged for eight months, it captivates with its balance, acidity and liveliness, offering a dynamic and engaging palate.

Cabernet Franc "Apistós" Podere Conca
Podere Conca's Apistós red wine is made exclusively from grapes of the internationally renowned Cabernet Franc variety, a grape variety that makes its mark in the glass, adding complexity and finesse to the taste. This is the winery's flagship label, which is also reflected in its name, which means 'incredible' in ancient Greek, symbolising the fascination of what is beyond the real, an imaginary flower that challenges nature itself with its uniqueness. The grapes are grown on the land adjacent to the Podere, less than 1 hectare, characterised by red sands rich in iron and skeleton, with a clay matrix that gives the grapes a profile of great acidity, power and structure, essential ingredients for a wine destined for long ageing.
The manual harvesting of the grapes, followed by a meticulous selection, begins a vinification process that focuses on excellence in craftsmanship. After destemming and crushing, fermentation takes place in cement tanks, with maceration on the skins for around 30 days.
The Apistós is then aged in French oak barrels of first and second passage for about 18 months before being bottled. A ruby red wine that reveals all the strength of the terroir in the glass, expressing elegant notes of aromatic herbs and green pepper, lively and deep on the palate. The sip continues to caress the palate with its tannins, rich and structured, it closes deep and long, promising an extraordinary evolution with time.
This wine is ideal with important dishes such as first courses with meat sauce, succulent red meats, game or grilled meats.

Bolgheri Rosso "Agapanto" Podere Conca
The Bolgheri Rosso DOC wine 'Agapanto' from Podere Conca is a poetic tribute to the South African flower Agapanthus, whose name comes from the Greek words 'agape' (love) and 'anthos' (flower). A label that, like its floral inspiration, expresses liveliness through its colour and elegance through its terroir, which is recounted and exalted in the tasting, a fresh and refined interpretation, despite its young age, deliberately desired by the producers (it is released the year after the year of production), highlighting the fragrance and elegance of the grapes from which it is made, an experience that conquers from the first sip.
The protagonists of this wine are Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Ciliegiolo, a blend of international and local grapes from the Le Ferruggini vineyard, a parcel of land not far from the winery. The area is characterised by sandy soils, the result of ancient lake and sea sediments, which favour drainage and give the wines an unmistakable fine, composite character. After the harvest and careful manual selection of the grapes, vinification follows an artisanal process that favours quality and respect for the raw material. The grapes are destemmed and crushed before fermentation with maceration on the skins in cement tanks for at least 20 days.
The wine is aged for about 12 months, partly in barriques and partly in second and third passage tonneaux, with the aim of achieving softness and balance, without masking the liveliness and varietal character of the wood.
In the glass, Agapanto presents itself with an intense and brilliant colour. The aromatic bouquet is dominated by fresh scents of red fruits. On the palate, it is a harmonious wine, with a fresh, exuberant entrance, but at the same time polite, with a pleasant persistence that invites you to take another sip.
This young red is perfect with cured meats, cheeses and red meats that are not too spicy, but its smoothness and versatility also make it an ideal choice for a complete meal.

Cabernet Sauvignon "196" Podere Conca
Podere Conca's '196' red wine is made from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown in the Bolgheri area of Tuscany, a few kilometres from the sea. Cabernet Sauvignon is an international grape variety that gives great satisfaction on its own or in blends. The result is a red wine that unfolds all its freshness when young, seductive, with a contrasting but never boring bouquet of red fruits and vegetal notes typical of the variety.
The name on the label is the symbol of the estate, its house number and landmark.
Podere Conca is a very young company, completely organic, with a vision of the future, of restoring and preserving the biodiversity of the territory.
As with some of the other references, the grapes come from the Le Ferruggini vineyard, located just 4 km from the sea, at an almost hilly altitude of 80 m above sea level. Here, the sandy soil with excellent drainage capacity and the influence of sea breezes create an ideal habitat for the cultivation and expression of the final product in the glass. The grapes, harvested by hand, are carefully processed in the cellar, first destemmed and then crushed, so that the fermenting must constantly moistens the skins during maceration, which lasts from 7 to 10 days. All this takes place in special tulip-shaped cement vats called 'Le Tulipe'. Maturation lasts about 8 months, all in cement tanks, followed by at least 2 months in bottle before release.
The Cabernet Sauvignon '196' presents itself in the glass with an intense and lively red colour. On the nose, the first notes are of fresh fruit, followed by vegetal nuances that intertwine in a fascinating aromatic balance. On the palate, the freshness and acidity are immediately noticeable, accompanied by a pleasant fruity finish that invites you to take another sip.
Perfect with meat dishes, even spicy ones, or with vegetables and cheeses of various ages. Its liveliness also makes it ideal for summer dishes, offering a young, dynamic and irresistible taste experience.
