Description
The beating heart of Podere Conca Bolgheri is a charming 19th century farmhouse that has been the holiday home of the family of Silvia Cirri, majority shareholder and managing director of the company, since the 1980s. Situated in the middle of 4.9 hectares of land, surrounded by 800 century-old olive trees of the Tuscan varieties Leccino, Frantoio and Moraiolo, the estate planted 0.2 hectares of Cabernet Franc in 2015, marking the start of a new winemaking adventure.
Driven by her passion for wine, after completing a three-year course at the Italian Sommelier Association, Silvia joined her partners Livio Aloisi and Giovanni Gastel in 2014 to embark on the path of viticulture in Bolgheri. In a few years, he has planted 5 hectares of vineyards, inaugurated a modern winery in 2019 and won awards for his wines.
Experimentation and research have led to unique blends, such as the Bolgheri DOC Agapanto, which combines the traditional Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc with Ciliegiolo, an indigenous grape that Silvia loves. The mature vineyards produce well-balanced wines with silky, enveloping tannins.
The team, made up mainly of women and led by oenologist-agronomist Linda Franceschi, is passionate about the care of the vineyards and the processes in the cellar. The company is committed to sustainable, organic and transparent practices, sharing every detail of its production with the public and the trade.
