Description
The 'Giasira' three-bottle case includes wines from the winery of the same name.
Keration, a pure 'lucido' Catarratto, comes from limestone vineyards in Rosolini (180-250 metres above sea level), trained using the spurred cordon method with yields of 70 quintals per hectare. Harvested by hand in early September, fermented in temperature-controlled steel tanks and aged on its lees for 6 months, plus 3 months in the bottle. Straw yellow with greenish reflections, bouquet of orange blossom and yellow-fleshed fruit; elegant, enveloping and savoury on the palate. Perfect with vegetarian dishes, seafood and medium-aged cheeses.
Rosato Nerello Mascalese, 100% vinified in white, from espalier vineyards in south-eastern Sicily. Harvested by hand in mid-September, fermented in stainless steel with short maceration, aged for 6 months sur lies and 3 months in the bottle. Rose petal colour with coppery reflections, aromas of wild strawberries, currants, rose and white pepper; fresh, savoury and persistent on the palate. Ideal as an aperitif or with raw seafood, shellfish and pizza.
Pure Nero d'Avola, from calcareous vineyards at 180-250 metres above sea level, spurred cordon pruning and low yields (60-70 quintals/hectare). Harvested at the end of September, fermentation with long maceration, aged for 12 months in barrels and 6 months in bottles. Ruby red with purple reflections, aromas of wild berries, blackberries and tobacco; harmonious, structured and persistent on the palate. Perfect with savoury first courses, meats, cured meats and mature cheeses.
