Description
The 'Rossi Euganei' three-bottle case includes selections of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon from the area.
'Cerese' is grown on volcanic and clay soils at 200 metres above sea level, with spurred cordon vines and moderate yields. The grapes are harvested by hand, followed by spontaneous fermentation with the skins and two years of ageing in wood. Intense ruby in colour, it opens with aromas of morello cherry, red fruits and spices, with a fresh, savoury and persistent palate. Suitable for baked pasta, roasts, arrosticini or medium-aged cheeses.
"Sgussa" comes from Cabernet vineyards at 100 metres above sea level, on volcanic soils, trained using the Guyot method with low yields. After manual harvesting, it ferments with indigenous yeasts and ages for two years in large barrels. Ruby red with purple reflections, it has aromas of herbs and spices; on the palate, it is fresh, smooth and savoury. Ideal with mature cheeses, wild boar or venison stews, ribs and roast pork.
"Sassonero", a Merlot from the Sassonegro area, is grown on shallow soils with limestone flakes. The spurred cordon vines produce low yields; the grapes ferment spontaneously and mature for three years in tonneaux. Intense ruby red in colour, it has hints of small fruits, plums, pepper and aromatic herbs. On the palate it is dry, rich, smooth and persistent. Perfect with quality cold cuts, succulent meats and traditional dishes such as pork fillet with plums or goose in onto.
