Description

Tenuta Corallo's red wine "Milia" is an elegant pure Aleatico wine made with dried grapes, a variety of vine that is rarely grown in southern Italy, but which is ideal for the production of dessert wines, enriched by its distinctive aromas. "In fact, "Milia" releases fruity notes, enriched with hints of aromatic plants typical of the Mediterranean maquis, a wine not for every day, it envelops the palate and offers a refined and satisfying sensory experience. The Aleatico vines grow on deep clayey-sandy soils without skeleton and are cultivated using the spurred cordon training system. The grapes are harvested in mid-September, when they are slightly withered on the vine, and then further dried on racks. Vinification takes place in steel tanks, fermentation with indigenous yeasts at a controlled temperature of 26-27°C, followed by ageing in steel tanks and in bottle. Milia' presents itself in the glass with an intense ruby red colour and a wide range of aromas. Fruity notes of black cherries and cherries under brandy intertwine with herbaceous notes of sage and rosemary, followed by a balsamic finish with hints of liquorice. The palate is full and enveloping, with an unmistakable softness and elegance, ending with an excellent persistence. This wine is perfect with food, it is excellent with dark chocolate, cakes with berry jam and dry pastries. It is also recommended as a meditation wine.
