Description

Deltetto's Roero Riserva Gorrini is a wine that interprets the strength and elegance of Nebbiolo in the best possible way. The grapes of this precious vine come from the Gorrini cru, a precious inheritance from our maternal grandfather Aldo, located in the municipality of Santo Stefano Roero, in a privileged position characterised by sandy soils that enhance the unique characteristics of Nebbiolo cultivated in the Roero. The Gorrini label is a tribute to this precious land, juicy and fragrant on the nose, it reveals all its impressiveness on the palate, with an irresistible, full-bodied sip. Today, Carlo, Cristina and Claudio continue the family tradition of winemaking, respecting the cardinal principles of ethical and responsible agriculture, crowned by organic certification in 2017. In the cellar, the winemaking process is respectful; the must obtained after crushing the grapes is fermented with their skins for about 30 days. The skins remain submerged for the entire period, which ensures a better extraction of all the polyphenolic and colouring compounds. After fermentation, the Roero Riserva is aged in oak barrels and barriques for a full 24 months before being bottled and aged for a further year. In the glass, it has an intense ruby red colour, a prelude to scents of violet petals, enriched by sweet aromas of ripe red fruits. The palate is complex, enveloped by elegant tannins and an imposing structure worthy of the expressiveness of the Nebbiolo grape. These qualities make it suitable for long ageing. It can be served at the table during important dinners and special moments, accompanied by first and second courses of meat.
