Description

Ca' Lustra was founded in 1977. Always attentive to respect and care for the environment, in 2008 it began the organic path, eliminating treatments with synthetic products and increasing the number of handmade processes. The company currently cultivates about 42 hectares of land, of which 22 are vineyards, in the area that stretches from Monte Venda, through the Faedo Valley, to Arquà Petrarca.

It is important to respect the different characteristics of the Euganean Hills area, from the rich volcanic soils to the much drier marine sediments. Cà Lustra is a member of Vinnatur, an association that promotes the production of natural wines and also carries out important experiments and studies in the vineyard. The vineyards are partly on volcanic and clay soils at an altitude of between 200 and 400 metres, and partly on limestone at an altitude of between 50 and 150 metres.

Varieties grown: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Carmenere, Moscato, Fior d'Arancio, Moscato rosa, Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinella, Tai Bianco, Pinot Bianco, Garganega and Manzoni Bianco.

The winery follows sustainable practices, such as traditional winemaking with spontaneous fermentation using indigenous yeasts, without any clarification and with the use of sulphites reduced to a minimum.

Long ageing periods are favoured to allow the wine to mature at its best, often in oak barrels of various sizes (from 500 l to 35 hl) and static decantation in cement tanks.
