Description

"Roero 'Bric del Medic' is the only wine from the Giuseppe Bordone winery to carry in its name the proud designation of its area of origin or 'cru', an area called Bric del Medic. Since 2017, the 'cru' or sub-areas of Roero have been defined, the result of ten years of research. Roero Bric del Medic is produced with Nebbiolo grapes, a wine of great character that deserves to be known, with a voluminous, fine flavour and velvety, enveloping tannins. The vines grow on calcareous-clayey soils, with some veins characterised by the abundant presence of sand. There are still traces of sea sand and fossils of shells, sea urchins and fish when this area was bathed by the sea 250,000 years ago. The work in the vineyard is careful and constant, the respect for the land and the interest in the quality of the grapes, not the quantity, are the cardinal principles of the company. After the manual harvest, the vinification process includes the passage of the grapes through a destemmer-crusher; the must obtained then flows together with the skins into steel tanks for fermentation at a controlled temperature. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels for about 24 months. The result is a ruby red wine with orange reflexes, with a soft taste, not excessively tannic, enriched with spicy notes of cinnamon and cloves, with vanilla notes that give it an enveloping character. The bouquet is complete, with rich scents of undergrowth, jam and spices. This wine is perfect with meat-based main courses or to enjoy in a relaxing moment after dinner".
