Description

Cascina Belmonte's "Naturae" wine, made from rebo grapes, is funding the FARM NATURE PLAN project The agro-ecosystem is, by its very nature, an unstable environment due to extensive human intervention. Through this initiative, Cascina Belmonte aims to improve both the quality and the quantity of biodiversity on its land. This mission aims to create a more biologically balanced environment, making it more beautiful and reducing the need for intervention by farmers. The name of the vine is a tribute to Rebo Rigotti, an eminent Italian agronomist and geneticist from the 1930s, known for his experiments on various crops. His research on the vine led to the creation of the officially recognised indigenous variety Rebo, a cross between Merlot and Teroldego. Cultivated using the Guyot training system on clay soil, with a controlled yield of 75 quintals per hectare, the grapes undergo a 3-day maceration with the must after harvesting. At the end of fermentation, the wine is aged in stainless steel tanks. The bright ruby red colour of Naturae Rebo reflects the liveliness, depth and brilliance of the wine. The nose is fresh and vaguely herbaceous, with hints of black cherry, sour cherry, raspberry and a subtle peppery spiciness. The palate is clean and savoury, with a fragrant vinosity and crisp fruitiness, offering an authentic everyday experience that never tires of drinking. It is a wine that accompanies any meal with youthful cheerfulness. Naturae Rebo is versatile and can be served with cured meats, fresh cheeses, rustic snacks with toasted polenta and sausage or grilled cheese. Naturae Rebo embodies the incredible charm of simplicity with a delicate and cheerful openness.
