Description
"The Roero Arneis 'Vignot' from the Giuseppe Bordone winery is a pure white Arneis wine, considered the jewel in the crown of this family winery.
This fascinating and full-bodied wine offers a fascinating sensory experience, characterised by complex perfumes and fruity aromas that blend in harmony with the tertiary scents produced by fermentation and ageing in wood. The Arneis vine, which almost disappeared in the 1960s due to the crisis in the wine sector, has been brilliantly rediscovered. Today, Roero Arneis white wines are highly regarded and are often referred to as "Barolo Bianco".
The grapes used come from the estate's oldest vineyard, with vines over 30 years old, located in the parcel adjacent to the estate on calcareous and clayey soils. The vines are trained using the Guyot system and enjoy the perfect microclimate, altitude and exposure for optimal ripening. The work in the vineyard is carried out with the greatest respect for the vines and the environment, which is why the harvest is done by hand. Once in the cellar, the Arneis grapes are gently pressed, the must ferments in new French oak barrels and matures, once again in wood, on its lees for about six months, with manual batonnage every two days.
The result of this demanding and meticulous work is a wine of straw-yellow colour with golden reflections, which attracts attention even in the glass. On the nose, it opens with notes of ripe white and yellow-fleshed fruits, enriched with sweet notes of acacia honey, vanilla and a hint of hazelnut. The palate is full, fresh and enveloping, a full-bodied, complex white wine with a soft and long finish. This Roero Arneis 'Vignot' is the ideal accompaniment to delicious dishes such as truffle dishes, meat dishes, mature cheeses and grilled fish. "
