The Begnardi winery was founded in 1974 when Roberto Begnardi, originally from Northern Italy, decided to settle in Tuscany and bought a farmhouse and some land where he planted his first hectare of vineyards.

Initially, the farm was involved in a variety of activities, including animal husbandry, cereal farming and, of course, wine production. A wine produced with rudimentary methods, without too many pretensions and with the main purpose of satisfying personal needs, friends and relatives.

In 2000, two of Roberto's four sons joined the company: Michele and Luca, who from an early age have contributed to the good running of the company.

Together with their father, they decided to concentrate exclusively on the wine-growing side of the business, which was already a great passion of theirs, and to develop it as much as possible.

It was in this year that new vineyards were planted and the construction of a larger winery began, which, thanks to the new equipment purchased, would be able to produce more and with a higher standard of quality.

It was here that the quality of the product became the company's mainstay, from which everything else developed.

The resources, both economic and labour, were then concentrated on the production of grapes of excellent quality, indispensable for a fine wine, with almost maniacal care of the vineyard.

Over the years, the company has gradually grown to 12 hectares of vineyards, which are still entirely managed with the aim of producing quality, also thanks to the help of Alessandro, Michele's son, who has decided to continue the family passion since 2016.

In 2018 also saw the start of the fascinating and long-awaited journey towards certification as an organic company, which will finally be achieved in 2021, a further step in the company's development under the sign of quality.

For over 20 years, quality and intimacy have been the constants of the Begnardi winery. A family-run, medium-sized winery with the merit of being able to produce, year after year, wines that are appreciated by wine lovers and others alike.
