Description

"Giuseppe Bordone's Roero Arneis white wine is made from a selection of ancient Arneis vines, which in recent decades have become the symbol of the Roero area of Piedmont. The Roero Arneis is a fresh and harmonious wine, with a clean and pleasant taste, which captures the spirit of an area of enchanting hills and castles that give the landscape a charm so evocative that the millenary wine-making tradition of this place has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The grapes come from the estate's own vineyards, which are located on different slopes near the winery. Once harvested, they are skilfully blended in the cellar to produce this white wine. All the plots are cultivated using the traditional Guyot training system, and the soil is characteristically calcareous-clayey and rich in mineral salts. When the Arneis grapes are ripe, they are hand-picked and placed in small crates to be taken to the cellar for vinification. After soft pressing, the must obtained ferments in steel tanks at 18°C, thanks to precise temperature control. The ageing process takes place in stainless steel tanks at 6°C, a low temperature to prevent the loss of aromas, until bottling, thus preserving the freshness and balance of the wine. The straw-yellow colour with greenish reflections is an invitation to discover the sensory richness of this wine. To the nose, the wine opens with a fruity and floral bouquet, releasing enveloping scents of acacia flowers and camomile, accompanied by lively and sweet notes of white peach. The entry is soft and agile, the presence of a vein of acidity gives the wine a freshness and crispness that gives the finish just the right amount of persistence. Ideal as an aperitif, especially with fish dishes. "
