Description

The winery is located one kilometre from the village of Mamoiada, in an area called Bruncu Boeli, at 630 metres above sea level, in the middle of the vineyard, facing south-west. The Cannonau vine is planted exclusively with low trees and the soil is made up of granite disintegration. Osvaldo, the penultimate of eight children, grew up in a family that was more involved in sheep-farming than vine-growing. As a boy he did not like working in the family vineyard. It was not until 2004, when he inherited a hectare of land from his father, where an eighty-year-old vineyard had been abandoned, that he discovered his passion. At the age of thirty, he began to approach the world of wine with a different spirit: he planted the new Cannonau vineyard, renovated an old country house and built his wine cellar right in front of the vineyard. The bond with the land, the vines and the passion for wine grew. With the 2019 vintage, the first official bottling, about 5000 bottles of pure Cannonau, vinified in three versions: rosé, red and riserva. The wines are produced according to tradition, with healthy grapes, organic processing, spontaneous fermentation with its own yeasts, low sulphites. The red wines are aged for a year in French oak tonneaux, followed by 12 months in bottle. The flagship wines are the Reserves, made by selecting the best grapes at harvest time.
