Description

"Nebbiolo d'Alba 'Vatepe' from the Giuseppe Bordone winery is a red wine that has been served at the tables of the House of Savoy since the 17th century. "Made exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes, "Vatepe" expresses a lively personality with seductive floral and fruity notes, followed by the complexity and elegance of spices that enrich the sensory experience. The vineyards from which this red wine is made are cultivated on the hills of Valteppe, in the municipality of Montà, in the heart of Piedmont, an area with a fascinating landscape that has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The vines are trained using the Guyot method, which respects nature and the plants themselves in order to obtain a high quality harvest. The vinification process begins with the destemming and crushing of the grapes, the destemmed grapes and the resulting must are fermented in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature of around 26°C. The wine matures in Slavonian oak barrels for about 12 months before bottling. The Nebbiolo d'Alba 'Vatepe' presents itself in the glass with a fascinating ruby red colour with light garnet reflections. The nose opens with an enveloping succession of scents of rose petals, currants, blueberries, a touch of black pepper makes the finish lively and intriguing. On the palate, it has a dry, firm and fresh profile, with a well-developed tannic vein and a slightly bitter aftertaste. It is excellent with meat or mushroom-based first courses and will also shine with well-structured main courses. "
