Description
The three-bottle case of 'Fiano' from Vinicola Cicella contains a fresh and light white wine, a faithful expression of this native Apulian grape variety. Made from 100% Fiano grapes, it originates in the countryside south of Taranto, where the vineyards are located on medium-textured soils, composed of sand, clay and silt, and benefit from their proximity to the Ionian Sea. The vines, facing south and trained using the Guyot method, offer modest yields of around 90 quintals per hectare. The harvest takes place in the last week of August, followed by soft pressing and fermentation in stainless steel tanks with selected yeasts. Ageing continues in stainless steel for five months before bottling. In the glass, it has a straw yellow colour with bright green reflections. The nose offers fragrant floral notes and hints of fresh exotic fruit, while the palate is soft, balanced and lively, with pleasant savoury nuances and good acidity on the finish. Ideal with fish dishes, delicate cheeses and white meats.

The Fiano made by the Cicella winery, as its name suggests, is produced from 100% Fiano grapes and is a faithful expression of this variety native to the Puglia region. A fresh, light white, ready to drink now and easy to enjoy. Its bouquet offers a pleasant mix of fruity notes enriched by hints of spice and aromatic herbs. The Fiano grape is grown mainly in Campania, but it can also be considered native to Puglia, as
its presence in the area is in fact documented as early as the late 13th century. Vinicola Cicella is a family business run by two brothers, Michele and Cosimo, located in a small village in the countryside south of Taranto; the Fiano vineyards lie on plots of medium-textured soil with varying proportions of sand, clay and silt, close to the Ionian Sea, and are strongly influenced by its proximity.
The vines face south and are Guyot-pruned, and yields are never allowed to exceed around 90 quintals of grapes per hectare. The grapes reach full ripeness around the last week of August each year, when they are harvested and taken to the winery. After destemming, the berries are gently pressed and the free-run must ferments with selected yeasts in stainless steel tanks. Ageing also takes place in stainless steel, where the wine rests for 5 months before bottling. In the glass, this Fiano shows a lovely straw-yellow colour with bright green highlights. On the palate it is soft yet assertive and balanced, with pleasant savoury sensations and good acidity on the finish. On the nose, fragrant floral notes emerge, accompanied by delicate hints of fresh tropical fruit. Ideal with a wide variety of dishes, including fish, as well as some cheeses and white meats such as chicken or turkey.
