Description
The 'Ripasso' three-bottle case from Cantina Nepos Villae contains Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore 'Strada Campiona', a special tribute to the ancient Roman road that crossed the valleys of Negrar and Valpantena, symbolising a deep bond between tradition and territory. It is made from a blend of Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara grapes, grown in the heart of the Valpolicella Classica on white marl soils. After fermentation in stainless steel and ripasso on Amarone pomace, the wine is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels and a further 5 months in the bottle. Intense ruby red in colour, it releases aromas of ripe cherry, wild berries and spices on the nose. On the palate it is full-bodied, round and pleasant, with notes of black pepper, nutmeg and a fresh, almondy and persistent finish. A versatile, elegant wine rich in history.
